Provide your bookings and attendance data to Ento via CSV import by following the steps below. We'll step you through how to:
Step 1: Download the CSV template
-
Go to Core HR > Account Data > Import Data
-
Click Create New
-
From the Type dropdown, select Demand Driver Sync
-
In the purple bar, select Click here to download a template file.
-
A CSV file will download. Save it with a meaningful title.
Ento Tip: Download a new template file from Ento every time you prepare an import, to make sure your file format reflects any Ento feature changes.
Step 2: Put your data in the template file

-
Put your data in the template, following the guidance below and making sure:

Your populated file will look something like this:
Guidance on preparing your data
Here we explain what data to put in each column of your template file.
Time |
For Attendance data, each row needs to be per 15-min interval. So instead of receiving a row of data every time a child arrives or leaves, we need to see the total attendance at 08:00:00, 08:15:00, and so on. For Bookings data, there is only one value for the entire day so enter 00:00:00 in the Time column. |
Demand driver ID |
This column indicates whether each row is bookings data or attendance data. For example, we often see values like NURSERY_ATTENDANCE and NURSERY_BOOKINGS in this column.
|
Value |
This is the total number for the date and time interval in each row. |
Area ID |
This is the Ento ID for the Area or Centre Group, which you can find or check in Core HR > Organisation Structure > Areas/Centre Groups. |
Type |
This indicates whether your data is a forecast or actual. For historical data put actual in the Type column; for future forecast data put forecast in the 'Type' column. |
Step 3: Import your file into Ento
Once you've put your data in the template file, you're ready to import it into Ento! 😃
-
Go to Core HR > Account Data > Import Data
-
Click Create New
-
From the Type dropdown, select Demand Driver Sync
-
Under File, click Select and choose your saved file.
-
Under Mode select Create and Update
-
Click Save
-
Ento will begin processing your import and display a progress bar. When your import is complete, there will be a summary results and any errors in your data.
Ento Tip: All past imports are listed on Core HR > Account data > Import data, where you can download and view the file that was imported.
